Basically, they live in the soil and although they can climb, their capabilities are limited. Active at night, they are most active when the vivarium lights are turned off at night. Small geckos are very soft and fragile, so that young children should be watched closely when handling them. However, once they get to know you they are easy to handle. Leopard geckos can live for about 20 years or more depending on how you take care of him. They do not need a lot of space, and their needs can be met with ease in any modern home. If treated properly, they can grow between 20 to 25cm.
